Give the gift of safe transportation this holiday.
In collaboration with local libraries, Community Assisted Rides offers a home delivery service for older adults aged 60 and better, ensuring they have access to library materials even if they can’t visit the library themselves.
Our library home delivery service helps to reduce feelings of isolation and keeps older folks connected to their communities and interests by providing them with access to library resources. The regular visits from volunteers not only offer entertainment and education but also strengthen the care and inclusion of all members of our community.
We currently partner with these libraries:
Every two weeks, CARS volunteers deliver books and other materials to clients’ doors and pick up any items to be returned to the library on Saturdays.
After two weeks, they pick up the old batch and drop off new items. Materials can include books, movies/DVDs, CDs, and magazines.
To participate in Library Delivery to your home, clients need a valid library card from their local library and must complete a home library delivery application from their respective library. Then they can call their library to order materials or place an online order. To become a part of the program, contact your local library and say you’d like to register for the home delivery service.

Making a gift in their honor and/or memory is a beautiful way to celebrate the people you treasure while caring for others for many years to come.
