Interfaith Community Partners Rebrands to Community Assisted Rides (CARS)

For 25 years, Interfaith Community Partners has been dedicated to serving over 22 communities in the western suburbs of Chicago. We have provided older neighbors with safe, reliable ride services and friendly community outreach, largely supported by community donations. However, over the years, we came to realize that the name Interfaith Community Partners could be limiting when it came to clearly communicating our services to the public.

New Name, New Opportunities

This year, our board of directors determined an updated brand would offer tremendous opportunities to better connect with volunteers, donors, and community partners. More importantly, it would help us raise the awareness and support necessary to bring our services to as many local older adults as possible.

It is with much delight that we announce our new name: Community Assisted Rides (CARS).

“After much study and reflection, we concluded that we would be better able to serve more of our older neighbors and expand our reach with a name that more clearly explains the services we provide, along with an updated, more modern logo and look,” said Board President Mary Pat Flaherty.

Our Mission Remains the Same

Our mission of maximizing the independence and well-being of older adults by enabling connections with others in their communities remains unchanged. Supported by generous community donations, CARS will continue to provide the same essential services we have since 1999: our foundational ride program for older adults, library homebound delivery, and community care initiatives such as friendly phone calls, flower delivery, and special treat delivery.

Whether accompanying clients on medical appointments or other essential errands, delivering surprise treats like flowers or soup, or offering a compassionate ear over the phone, CARS volunteers are committed to being the bridge between our older friends and the things that help them continue to lead quality, engaging lives.

“Now we have a name and image that supports ALL of who we are and ALL of the places we plan to go,” said Executive Director Janet Garreau. “We are so grateful to all the volunteers, donors, sponsors, and VIPs who have been riding along on this journey with us, and we are excited to keep serving our communities while also expanding to serve more older adults with our new look.”

We invite you to join us on this exciting journey. To learn more about how to get involved with CARS, please call us at 708-354-9328 or fill out the contact form on our website.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership!

Honor/Memorial

Making a gift in honor of mom, dad, grandma or another special older adult pays tribute to your loved one and cares for others in their honor. Please consider making a donation to CARS in honor of mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, or another special person in your life.

Making a gift in their honor and/or memory is a beautiful way to celebrate the people you treasure while caring for others for many years to come. If you donate in honor of one of our current clients or volunteers, we will happily mail them a notecard letting them know a donation was made in their honor!
